New Comics Release for 9/5/18

September is here! That means Batman day is on its way and there is a noticeable chill in the air because we are on our way to Fall! Well lets jump in and get to this weeks new releases!

From DC this week, Vertigo gets a much needed shot to the arm with two new titles this week, one in the Sandman family!

First off, Bordertown #1 lands this week. Written by Eric M Esquivel with art by Ramon Villalobos. When a crack in the border between worlds releases an army of monsters from Mexican folklore, the residents of Devil's Fork, AZ, blame the ensuing weirdness-the shared nightmares, the otherworldly radio transmissions, the mysterious goat mutilations-on "God-dang illegals." With racial tensions supernaturally charged, it's up to new kid in town Frank Dominguez and a motley crew of high school misfits to discover what's really going on in this town torn between worlds.

From writer Simon Spurrier and artist Bilquis Evely comes The Dreaming #1 from the world of Sandman! From the upheaval of THE SANDMAN UNIVERSE #1 rises THE DREAMING-a kingdom in chaos. There is a place where stories are born. Today its walls lie slashed and bleeding. Dream has abandoned his realm, and until he is found, its residents must protect its broken borders alone. But the most senior storysmiths are tormented by invasive secrets, the warden Lucien is doubting his own mind-and beyond the gates something horrific waits with tooth and talon. Only Dora, the monstress, finds opportunity in madness, stealing dreams for the highest bidder. But she has no idea how deep the danger lies. Meanwhile, in Dream's gallery, something new is growing...

Also this week, Brian Michael Bendis’ Jinxworld imprint adds a new title! Cover #1 (of 6) launches this week with superstar artist David Mack! Deep in the American intelligence community, someone realizes that comic book creators, who travel all over the world to sell their wares, might make the perfect cover for operatives in the dangerous, topsy-turvy world of intelligence and counterintelligence...and that's when all hell breaks loose. This is the story of the time the world of comics and the world of international spywork smashed together-with unexpected results!

And finally this week, also part of Jinxworld, Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming return with United States Vs Murder Inc #1 (of 6). A crime-infused blast of alternate history. Years ago, the five families of organized crime had such a stranglehold over the American public that the U.S. government found itself forced to give up part of the country or lose all of it. Now the unrest between America and the families has come to a boil. A war is about to come-a war no one is ready for. Newly made man Valentine Gallo and mob hitwoman Jagger Rose find themselves torn over which side of the war they want to be on.

From Dynamite this week James Bond Origin #1 hits the shelves and is written by Jeff Parker with art by Bob Q. At last, the definitive account of James Bond's exploits during World War II! MARCH, 1941: Seventeen-year-old James Bond is a restless student in Scotland, an orphan, eager to strike out and make his mark on the world. But a visit by an old family friend coincides with THE CLYDEBANK BLITZ, the most devastating German attack on Scotland during the War. James will fight through hell to survive, coming out the other side determined to make a difference. He'll find his calling in a new British government service, secret in nature...

From Image this week, Skottie Young takes the reigns of a new all ages title called Bully Wars illustrated by Aaron Conley. Rufus, the biggest bully in Rottenville since kindergarten, suddenly goes from bully to bullied on the first day of high school. He's forced to make a shaky pact with his favorite geeks: Spencer and his twin sibling besties, Edith and Ernie. Together they'll have to find a way to survive the Hunger Games-like contest known simply as the BULLY WARS-where the winner will rule the school!

From Marvel this week, Spinning out of the events of INFINITY WARS comes an epic space opera from DEADPOOL veterans Cullen Bunn and Matteo Lolli! Angela, the not-so-beloved half-sister of Thor. The hotheaded Valkyrie - and the human who shares her form, Annabelle Riggs. Skurge the Executioner, freshly returned from Hel. Throg, the mightiest frog of thunder. Kevin Masterson, the boy who took his father's mace to become the hero Thunderstrike. And the Destroyer, the Asgardian armor built to take down Celestials - its wielder unknown. The events of INFINITY WARS set NEBULA off on a quest to rule the galaxy - wielding an Asgardian weapon even Thor would fear - and it's up to this team of gods, assassins, frogs and heroes to stop her.

Also from Marvel this week, Donny Cates isn’t quite done with Thanos! Thanos Legacy #1 hits the racks this week. Rising star Donny Cates returns to the Mad Titan to bring the story bridging the gap between his best-selling "Thanos Wins" and the world-shattering INFINITY WARS! How did Thanos' journey back from the future lead to the events of INFINITY WARS PRIME? Now it can be told!

And lastly from Marvel, keep your eyes out for both Old Man Logan Annual #1 with a story from the Wastelands starring the Punisher! And in Silver Surfer Annual #1 we get a dark and tragic tale of the surfer’s past!
