New Comics Release for 11/7/18

Welcome to November! We are gradually winding down towards the Holidays and the end of the year, but before we get there there are still plenty of awesome comics for you to check out, so lets jump in!

From Boom this week, Cullen Bunn is back with a new horror series called Empty Man #1! Horror sensation Cullen Bunn (Harrow County, Bone Parish) returns to the world of Empty Man with artist Jesús Hervás (Lucas Stand, Clive Barker's Hellraiser) in this new ongoing series. The nation is in the grip of a terrible pandemic. The so-called Empty Man disease causes insanity and violence. Government quarantines are mandatory. One of the afflicted is Melissa Kerry, and the next step should be to quarantine her-but those who enter quarantine are never seen again. Melissa's family won't let that happen. All they have to do is care for her, keep her worsening condition a secret-and they'll do anything, trust anyone, to keep her safe.

From DC this week, Green Lantern #1 hits the stands! Superstar writer Grant Morrison (Batman, All-Star Superman) returns to DC alongside red-hot artist Liam Sharp (The Brave AND the Bold, Wonder Woman) to launch a new, ongoing series: THE GREEN LANTERN! In this debut issue, when Earth's space cop, Hal Jordan, encounters an alien hiding in plain sight, it sets off a chain of events that rocks the Green Lantern Corps-and quite possibly the Multiverse at large-to its very core. There's an inter-galactic conspiracy afoot, as well as a traitor in the GL Corps' ranks, so strap in for more mind-bending adventures in this masterpiece in the making.

Also from DC this week, Suicide Squad Black Files #1 (of 6) hits the stands! Two members of Task Force X are back in these all-new adventures! First up: "REVENGE OF KOBRA" by writer Mike W. Barr and artist Philippe Briones. To oppose the terrorist Kobra is to earn his undying hatred, and that's what the samurai Katana did when she killed his beloved Eve. Now, Kobra stalks Katana beyond the bounds of the Earth itself, to a supernatural world where he will steal from her everything that she has-including her very soul! And in "SUICIDE SQUAD BLACK," by writer Jai Nitz and artist Scot Eaton, Sebastian Faust, the U.S. government's top arcane operative, has gone rogue! To track down America's most dangerous magician, Amanda Waller assembles a special ops team unlike any other: an expendable coven of dark arts experts including El Diablo, Enchantress and Gentleman Ghost. They are Suicide Squad Black, and they will take you to places where even the dead can die!

From Dynamite this week, a new ongoing James Bond series kicks off with James Bond 007 #1! The ODD JOB epic begins in a new ongoing James Bond comic series by superstars GREG PAK (Planet Hulk, Mech Cadet Yu) and MARC LAMING (Star Wars, Wonder Woman)! Agent 007 tracks a smuggler into Singapore to secure a dangerous case, contents unknown. But a Korean mystery man wants the case as well, for very different reasons. And if Bond and this new rival don't kill each other, the ruthless terrorist organization known as ORU will be more than happy to finish the job.

From IDW this week, and part of the Star Wars Adventures series is Star Wars Adventures Destroyer Down #1 (of 3). Swallowed by the shifting sands of Jakku, the Imperial Star Destroyer Spectral has been lost for two decades, giving rise to rumors of hauntings and buried treasure. But an epic sandstorm has revealed the ruins of the starship, and renowned scavenger Rey now leads the race to claim whatever lies within! Three-issue mini-series set during the days before The Force Awakens! Includes a backup story depicting the Battle of Jakku, revealing how the Star Destroyer Spectral met its fate during the last days of the Empire!

From Image this week, Outer Darkness #1 hits the stands. Sci-fi and horror collide in this new series from the co-creator of CHEW! Mankind has colonized the galaxy, but during our interstellar travels, we discovered a terrifying secret out in the Outer Darkness of space. Join Captain Joshua Rigg and the crew of the starship Charon as they encounter demonic possessions, hauntings, cosmic horror, and more! All-star writer JOHN LAYMAN (CHEW) and artist AFU CHAN (Immortal Iron Fists) are ready to let you know that outer space is terrifying.

From Marvel this week, the Marvel Knights return in celebration of their 20th Anniversary with Marvel Knights 20th #1 (of 6) written by Donny Cates! In celebration of the legendary imprint founded by Marvel's CCO Joe Quesada, a new crop of talent stands poised to tell a groundbreaking story across the Marvel Universe! In the cemetery, the blind man does not know who he is, or why he has come to this particular grave at this moment. He doesn't know the burly police officer with the wild story who has approached him. Or the strangely intense man who sits in the rear seat of the patrol car, his eyes flashing green. But all of that is about to change. Because Matt Murdock is beginning to remember...In a colorless world without heroes, the spark of light...must come from the dark...

Also from Marvel this week, young Han Solo’s adventures continue with Star Wars Han Solo Imperial Cadet #1 (of 5). HAN SOLO escapes Corellia by joining the IMPERIAL NAVY, vowing to return for QI'RA. But how does a thief used to the chaos of the streets adjust to the order and discipline of the military? Not well! Han's dream of becoming a pilot is quickly grounded as he realizes he may not even survive basic training!

Lastly from Marvel this week, Typhoid Fever X-Men #1 hits the rack this week. TYPHOID MARY has returned to Hell's Kitchen and taken over the neighborhood's psychiatric hospital, overwhelming Manhattan's most dangerous neighborhood with her unique telekinetic abilities. When mutants and humans alike get caught in the crossfire, the X-Men have no choice but to intervene... only to square off against THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN?!

From Titan Comics, Doctor Who 13th Doctor #1 hits the stands this week! The Doctor regenerates into her most thrilling incarnation yet - played by Jodie Whittaker, and traveling alongside three brand new companions: Graham (Bradley Walsh), Yasmin (Mandip Gill), and Ryan (Tosin Cole)! Experience mind-blowing challenges and dynamic adventures through time and space - right alongside the Doctor and her friends! A new series for a new era on the TARDIS, from a creative team of astounding women - Eisner-nominated writer Jody Houser (Faith, Mother Panic, Star Wars: Rogue One, Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows, Orphan Black, The X-Files: Origins), art by Rachael Stott (Doctor Who, Motherlands, Star Trek/Planet of the Apes) and colors from Enrica Angiolini (Shades of Magic: The Steel Prince, Warhammer 40,000)!
