New Comics Release for 10/5/16

Holy crap is there a lot going on this week! Late as usual, so lets get straight to it!

From DC this week, five, that’s right FIVE new series of note hit the shelves! First, Deadman: Dark Mansion of Forbidden Love #1 is out, the first in a 3 issue prestige format mini series that finds DCs ghost with the most trapped inside an old gothic mansion battling the forces of darkness alongside a young woman with a complicated love life and the ability to communicate with the dead!

Also this week, Death of Hawkman #1 which pits Adam Strange and Hawkman together in another epic battle between the two heroes homeworlds! Midnighter & Apollo #1 is also out, continuing the Steve Orlando epic that ended all too soon! He Man Thundercats #1 (of 6) hits shelves this week in an epic crossover that has been 30 years in the making and follows Mumm-Ra’s attempt to steal He Man’s Sword of Power to combat Lion-o’s Sword of Omens! Lastly, another Young Animal book lands in the form of Shade the Changing Girl! Following the trials and tribulations of a young high school student on a distant planet and her attempt to navigate life.

From Image this week we have another couple of new series as well! Cannibal #1 is available and is about the denizens of a small Everglades town desperately trying to hold onto their everyday lives at the dawn of a cannibal pandemic.

Also this week, Moonshine #1 from Brian Azzarello & Eduardo Risso hits the shelves and is a story set during prohibition deep in the Appalachian backwoods as a slick NYC crime boss tries to strike a deal with the best moonshiner in West Virginia, but the moonshiner will do anything to protect his illicit booze operation and a much darker supernatural family secret!

Also from Image this week, Max Landis’ new series Green Valley #1, and Romulus #1!

Finally from Marvel this week, we round out all of the new releases. This week sees the revival of the Marvel Now moniker and with it a bunch of new series as well, most notably, Champions #1! Spinning out of events from Civil War, the Marvel universes youngest and best decide to form their own team determined to change the world!

Also this week, Deadpool Back in Black #1 (of 5) hits the rack and sees the Venom symbiote from Spidey’s rejected costume finding a new host in the form of Deadpool! The crazy adventures that ensue are detailed inside this here mini series!

Also from Marvel this week, Death of X #1, Enchanted Tiki Room #1, Jessica Jones #1, and Cage #1 which sees Cartoon Network alum Genndy Tartakovsky writing and drawing this new series starring the “old” Luke Cage, as he finds his way working through the mean streets of Harlem!
