New Comics Release for 12/21/16

Another big week, mostly from the big 2 as we head into the homestretch towards Christmas! We hope that everyone has a very happy holidays surrounded by family, friends, food, and of course comics! Here are your new releases hitting stands this Wednesday!

DC comes out with a bang as the first major event storyline of the Rebirth era begins with a day that Amanda Waller always knew would come: the Justice League discovers the existence of the Suicide Squad! This government sponsored black ops team of super villains with bombs implanted in their brains is obviously a deal breaker for Earths paragons for truth and justice! But you can bet that Waller and her Task Force X wont go down without a fight! Written by Joshua Williamson with art by Jason Fabok!

From IDW this week, the world of Locke and Key is back for a one-shot! Three years after wrapping up their award winning series, the team of Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez return to Keyhouse in Lovecraft, Massachusetts with a new tale of terror and suspense. An impossible birthday gift for two little girls unexpectedly opens a door to a monster on eight legs!

From Marvel this week, a mess of new issues hits the rack including Gamora #1, and Mighty Captain Marvel #0. Star Lord #1 also hits shelves, written by Chip Zdarsky with art by Kris Anka. The new Star Lord title delves more into the “Grounded” story arc where many of the members of the GOTG are stranded on Earth. As Peter Quill tries to find he feet on the ground, what is there to do for a guy whos reputation consists of “Guarding the Galaxy”?
