New Comics Release for 4/12/17

Way behind this week so lets just jump right in!

From Dark Horse this week, a couple of notable second issues for folks who picked up the firsts! Hellboy and the BPRD 1954 Ghost Moon #2 is out and finds big red squaring off against a pair of Chinese demons while Sue physically hunts down the source of the supernatural trouble in Hong Kong. Also out this week is American Gods #2! Having just accepted a job as a bodyguard for Mr. Wednesday, Shadow Moon is kidnapped by the dangerous Technical Boy who wants answers as to Wednesday’s plans.

From DC this week, Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps #18 starts a new story arc called “The Prism of Time”. The Green Lantern Corps has united with their once mortal enemies the Sinestro Corps, but there's a storm brewing on the horizon as an enemy from the future arrives to rip the two apart. There will be no peace in this time.

From Image this week SEVEN TO ETERNITY IS BACK! That’s right, Issue #5 comes out on Wednesday! Beyond that a new series called Rose hits stands and is written by Meredith Finch with art by Ig Guara. A classic fantasy tale about a girl trying to restore balance to a broken world. Rose must connect with her Khat-Thorne-to become the Guardian the world needs. But things aren't easy for Rose and Thorne, the powerful sorcerous Drucilla has many powerful and demonic allies-all of them focused on stopping one scared little girl who's desperately trying to stay alive and do what's right.

From Marvel this week, lots of new #1s again hitting the stands including Black Panther Crew #1, Deadpool Vs Punisher #1, Weapon X #1, but most excitedly, X Men Blue #1! Written by Cullen Bunn with art by Jorge Molina and Matteo Buffagni, this new series follows the original X-Men of Marvel Girl, Cyclops, Beast, Iceman, and Angel as they reclaim the title of X-Men. The original five are here to bring mutant criminals to justice and restore a heroic sheen to their team. But with a new leader in Jean Grey and a new mentor in their “arch-frenemy” Magneto, will old rivalries and new conflicts tear these heroes apart?

Lastly from Boom this week, a new series written by Simon Spurrier with art by Jonas Goonface hits the stands in Godshaper #1. Godshaper introduces a vast world where there's a god for every person and a person for every god...though for Ennay, unfortunately exceptions may apply. People like him are Godshapers, godless social pariahs with the ability to mold and shape the gods of others. Paired with Bud, an off-kilter but affectionate god without a human, the two travel from town to town looking for shelter, a hot meal, and the next paying rock 'n' roll gig.
