New Comics Release for 5/25/16

This week is a big week with some huge titles from the big 2! Lots of neat things in the works, and to celebrate Rebirth, lots of shops are having midnight release parties for the book, so be sure to check with your LCS to see if they are doing anything special this Tuesday night!

From Dark Horse this week, a new Lobster Johnson 3 issue mini debuts! Written by John Arcudi and Mike Mignola, and art by Tonci Zonjic, the new series sees a trio of skyscraper sized robots smashing into a Manhattan bank, and leave Lobster Johnson with two mysteries: what is behind these massive machines, and why didn’t they steal anything?

From DC this week, their massive 80 page one shot, DC Universe Rebirth is available. Rebirth is setting the stage for the current DC universe and is going to lay the foundation for years of stories to come. This title is available at a special price of $2.99 and is packed with easter eggs to stories from DC’s past, present and future!

From IDW this week we get an adaptation of the Hunter S. Thompson classic with Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas #1. With story, art, and cover by Troy Little, this new series with cartoonish sensibilities is the perfect medium to capture the insanity of Thompsons prose.

From Image this week we finally get issue #5 of Cry Havoc. This issue continues the weird lesbian werewolf military monster squad horror story and sees the birth of a new nasty beast in the warzone that is modern day Afghanistan. Written by Simon Spurrier with art by Ryan Kelly and Miguel Montegegro.

Finally, from Marvel this week, Captain America Steve Rogers #1 is available! Written by Nick Spencer with art by Jesus Saiz, this new series sees Steve returned to his youth as a result of the Avengers Standoff story arc and he debuts with a new shield, a new team and a new mission!
