New Comics Release for 6/15/16

Twas the Wednesday before Comic Con and excitement was high, new comics abound…oh me….oh my! Fanboys and Fangirls rejoiced and were giddy! Stan Lee! Neegan! And my oh my so many pretties!

Well, enough of that. I am not Etrigan and am over my poetry phase! ITS COMIC CON WEEK! SQUEE! Here are the new releases available in shops this Wednesday!

From Dark Horse this week, we get a cool new series from esteemed writer Fred Van Lente, with art by Guiu Vilanova called Weird Detective. Weird Detective is a new mini series that explores the creepy happenings plaguing the streets of New York, as crimes seek to usher in the unimaginable evil of the Old Ones, and one man fights to stop them!

From DC this week, the long overdue and seemingly perpetually delayed Dark Knight Returns The Last Crusade is FINALLY scheduled to ship. This standalone issue written by Frank Miller and Brian Azzarello with art and cover by John Romita Jr. (who is going to be at DCC!!!) tells a special tie-in story about Batman with the Joker, Poison Ivy, Catwoman, and the last Robin!

From Image this week, your favorite hit comedy/fantasy book, I Hate Fairyland is back with a new story arc! Written and drawn by Skottie Young, this new arc asks what will become of Fairyland now that Gert has been crowned the new queen, and how will her new status affect her quest to return home?

Lastly but not leastly, from Marvel this week, everyone’s favorite scruffy looking Nerf Herder gets his own five issue mini series! Written by Marjorie Liu with art by Mark Brooks, this new mini-series follows Han as he is given a top secret undercover mission for the Rebellion: rescuing informants and spies using the cover of the infamous Kessel Run! Han Solo #1 is available this Wednesday!
