Denver Comic Con is almost here! Lots of craziness going on this week that culminates with our local huge convention this Friday – Sunday! Hope to see lots of you there! Lets get to the madness that is new comics this week!

From DC this week, Flash #25 starts a new story arc written by Josh Williamson with art by Carmine Di Giandomenico and Howard Porter. "RUNNING SCARED" part one! When Eobard Thawne murdered Barry Allen's mother, he killed a piece of The Flash's past. Now, Reverse-Flash is back to kill Barry's future! The Flash's biggest storyline yet begins as he is pushed to his limits and his secrets are laid bare in a chase through time itself! Don't miss the extra-sized anniversary issue!

From Image this week, Greg Rucka’s Black Magick is finally back after an extremely long hiatus. Issue #6 starts a brand new story arc. What the hell is the deal with Rowan Black, anyway? For that matter, just how many "real" witches are there? What is the bond that ties Rowan and Alex together? Is the series really coming back, or is this just the creative team messing with your heads? Yes, it's true-the critically acclaimed series returns with a standalone story detailing how Rowan was awakened to her family's legacy...and the enormous cost of being its inheritor.

From Marvel this week, Edge of Venomverse starts now! Written by Matthew Rosenberg with art by Rolan Boschi, The series that sets up the epic VENOM EVENT of 2017 STARTS HERE! Each issue introduces another major Venomized character that will feed into VENOMVERSE itself! THIS ISSUE, the young mutant clone designated X-23 collides with a cryogenic tube containing a strange alien symbiote during her frenzied escape from The Facility, . Bonding with the alien enhances her already considerable abilities, and aids in her escape, but it begins to alter her mind! On the run from the very people that made her, can X-23 hold it together or is she doomed to give in to Venom!

From Alterna Comics, a new series starts off at their awesome $1.50 price point on newsprint! Scrimshaw #1 is written by Eric Borden with art by Dave Mims! With the planet ravaged by war, ruthless corporations have the world's governments in their pockets. Faced with impossible odds, Captain Hans Tanaka and the rest of the crew of the Runaway Horse have been branded as pirates, cut-throats, mercs... and the good guys!

From Black Mask this week we get a new series called Beautiful Canvas. Written by Ryan Lindsay with art by Sami Kivela. Lon Eisley is a hitwoman hired to kill a small child a few days after discovering her girlfriend pregnant. In a bold declaration of uncertainty, she saves the boy and hits the road, despire the fact her boss clearly wanted him dead for a reason. This warped crime dystopia delves into the emotional dichotomy of creator/destroyer as Lon tries to connect the two very different worlds she now inhabits.
