New Comics Release for 6/29/16

Behind again so lets get right to it!

Here are the new releases available in shops this Wednesday!

From Dark Horse this week we get a sweet new series called Cryptocracy, written by Van Jensen with art by Pete Woods. Cryptocracy is a story of the illuminati, and how Nine Families steer the course of reality. However outsiders are now aware of the Families, and are threatening their control.

From DC this week, Dark Knight 3 Master Race #5 is available and sees Batman and Robin preparing for war against the Master Race, while an ally returns from an unlikely place!

From Marvel this week, Uncanny Inhumans #11 is available and is a Civil War 2 tie in, that follows Medusa’s actions after what Iron Man did in issue #2 of Civil War 2! Also this issue features the debut of a new inhuman called Mosaic!

This week I would like to spotlight a couple of new comics coming out from independent publishers.

First, from Albatross Funnybooks, Hillbilly #1 is available with story, art, and cover by Eric Powell. Powell brings his “goon” sensibilities to a new series set in the Appalachian Mountains that is a fantasy epic telling the story of Rondel, a lonely figure who wanders the wooded hills among witches and magical creatures.

Last, from Automatic Pictures Publishing, Con Mans Spectrum #1 is available. Alan Tudyk and PJ Haarsma write the “parody of a parody” “show within a show” book, Spectrum. The “Con Man” webseries details Allan Tudk and Nathan Fillion’s experience on the show Firefly together, but is masked as a different TV series called “Spectrum” which this comic is about! Confusing, right?
