New Comics Release for 7/19/17

Man, it has been awhile! I apologize for the delay in the write-ups. The week after Denver Comic Con which had new comics being delivered on the Wednesday after the 4^th just had me all screwed up, but lets get back to it shall we?

From DC this week, Justice League #25 is a one shot story called “Reborn” in which an ancient cosmic evil is revived on earth. A threat that once took the combined Green Lantern Corps to defeat many millennia ago. Now, how can six heroes and two green lanterns possible put this cosmic genie back into its proverbial bottle.

From IDW this week, woo-hoo! DuckTales is back! Issue #0 is out this Wednesday and features beloved characters like Uncle Scrooge, Donad Duck, and Huey, Dewey, and Louie. This new #0 issue is the perfect jumping on point for fans old and new in anticipation of the new TV series coming this summer.

From Image this week, two new series are launching. First, Generation Gone is about three young hackers in America, year 2020. What happens if you are poor, angry, and get superpowers you never asked for? Generation Gone is for every kid struggling out there. Its about what it means to be young in the USA in 2017.

Next we have Moonstruck, a new series about monsters, romance, and magical hijinks. Fantasy creatures are living typical, unremarkable lives alongside humans, and barista Julie strives to be the most unremarkable of all. But all bets are off when she and her Centaur best friend Chet find themselves in the middle of a magical conspiracy.

From Marvel this week, Astonishing X-Men #1 hits the stands, written by Charles Soule with art by Jim Cheung. An ancient evil is attacking the world’s most powerful minds. It will have them by the time you finish this sentence, and a moment later it will have us all. A band of X-Men discovers the truth behind the threat, but there is no time left.

From Boom! Studios this week, Sisters of Sorrow debuts with issue #1 (of 4). Kurt Sutter brings this all-new original tale of revenge and recovery to comics. By day, Dominique, Greta, Misha, and Sarah run a nonprofit womens shelter. At night, they each don a nuns habit and move through LA hunting down violent abusers who have escaped justice!
