New Comics Release for 12/14/16

Well it is a huge week this week and I am already late and behind, so lets jump right in to the highlights for this week!

DC is full of Holiday cheer this week as the DC Rebirth Holiday Special #1 hits shelves. With stories by a variety of creators, DC’s biggest and brightest heroes celebrate the holidays including a Chanukah crisis for Huntress, a Flash family Christmas, Wonder Woman interrupting John Constantine’s hellblazing pagan party and more, including the return of Detective Chimp! Special Harley story by Paul Dini!

From Image this week, Rockstars #1 hits shelves. Written by Joe Harris with art by Megan Hutchison, this new ongoing explores Rock ‘N’ Roll’s untold mysteries and secrets! When a pattern of unsolved ‘groupie’ murders from the 70s resumes in present-day Los Angeles, nobody makes the connection except a rock nerd with a strange connection to music’s urban legends and lost history!

From Marvel this week, Hawkeye #1 drops and is written by Kelly Thompson with art by Leonardo Romero. Remember Hawkeye? No not that Hawkeye, our favorite Hawkeye, the chick who puts the hawk in Hawkeye, the butt-kicking hero who had to save the other Hawkeye’s butt all the time. Kate Bishop makes her solo comics debut and is returning to LA with her bow and arrow and P.I. badge in tow.

From Dynamite this week, Red Sonja #0 is out! The barbarian She-Devil with a Sword faces a whole different world and challenges in this new adventure written by Amy Chu and drawn by Carlos Gomez. Somewhere deep underground, strange and powerful demons clad in metal armor attack and roust Red Sonja from a deep magical sleep. Confused and weaponless, she must find a way to defeat these mysterious creatures, escape from her solitary prison, and make her way to the surface to discover where she is, and why she was put there...AND ITS ONLY A QUARTER!
